EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization), previously noted for its lethargic operations, has finally learned from its mistakes. They made the decision to try and make their operations more user-friendly. EPFO Login recently offered the ability to lodge a claim via the internet. Previously, the procedure of filing a claim was done through papers.
By submitting a claim online without having to fill out a lot of paperwork, you may save time and make the process easier. “With this, we want to cut the turnaround time from 20 days to 10 days,” said V.P.Joy. The process is still manual at our end, even when the subscriber submits the request electronically.”
Let’s take a look at what you should do before filing a claim online.
- Your Universal Account Number should be activated (UAN)
- You should double-check that the UAN-registered mobile phone number is active.
- Aadhaar details should be seeded.
- Fill in your bank account information. This is where the settlement amount will be determined.
- You must also provide your permanent account number if you have not been an EPFO member for at least 5 years (PAN)
Officials say that if you want to submit claims online, you must first activate your Universal Account Number (UAN). It is necessary to use the same mobile phone number that was used to activate UAN. Only if you have registered or linked your account to Aadhar can you advance.
The Aadhaar composite claim form can be used to make a claim online. While the old forms are no longer in use, the types of withdrawals remain the same. Each has its own set of requirements that must be met in order to receive a withdrawal.
You must specify the date of joining and the date of exit for ultimate settlement. The EPFO database should have this information. Another crucial point to remember is that you should not be working in an establishment covered by the Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 at the time of filing your claim.
Step by Step Guide for EPF Claim
1st Step: Go to the UAN website.
2nd Step: Type in your UAN and password.
3rd Step: After login in, go to the ‘Manage’ menu and pick KYC to see if your KYC information is correct and verified.
4th Step: After you’ve completed the verification process, go to the ‘Online Services’ tab and pick ‘Claim’ from the drop-down menu.
5th Step: The ‘Claim’ panel now displays information about the member and additional services. To submit your claim form, click the ‘Proceed for Online Claim’ tab.
6th Step: Under the tab ‘I Want to Apply For,’ select the claim you desire, such as full EPF Settlement, EPF Part withdrawal (loan/advance), or pension withdrawal. If a member is not qualified for a service, such as a pf balance check withdrawal or a pension withdrawal, that choice will be absent from the drop-down menu.
7th Step: After you’ve chosen your reason for withdrawal/advance, you’ll need to fill out your personal information. The person will now be required to upload a scanned copy of their cheque book or passbook. Once more, select the terms and conditions. Select ‘Get Aadhaar OTP’ from the drop-down menu.
8th Step: An OTP will be delivered to the mobile number associated with your Aadhaar account. In the necessary box, enter the OTP.
Your PF withdrawal process will be completed once the OTP has been successfully input. That concludes our discussion.
